About the Expert: Lovish spent almost 14 years in Sustanibility domain both as a consultant and industry professional. He did his BE in Environment from Delhi College of Engineering followed by Masters in Environment Science, Policy and Mangement from Europe. He is the recipient of prestigious scholarship, Erasmus Mundus Scholarship from European Commission. Lovish currently holds a leadership position as Head of Sustainability, GHCL Ltd (Group Company of Dalmia Bros.) with portfolio of Chemical, Textile and Consumer Product division. Present role involves establishing a formal framework of sustainability governing all decision making at GHCL Limited. Prior to GHCL, he spent almost 9 years at Vedanta Resources Plc. During the stint at Vedanta he grew through various levels such as a Head of Sustainability for International Business (African, Europe & Australia) and finally as a Group of Head Sustainability Vedanta Resources Plc. Lovish has expertise in International Standard Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), Occupational Health & Safety Management, Pollution Prevention, Green Supply Chain Management, Non-financial reporting (Sustainability reports), Biodiversity Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Closure Planning, and Community Social Initiative (CSI). His key achievements include successfully spearheading the Environmental and Social Impacts Assessment for 3 projects in Africa (South Africa-2 and Namibia-1) as per IFC standards, designing one of its kind ‘No-Net Loss’ biodiversity framework through application of biodiversity offsetting principles for one of the largest Greenfield zinc mine in South Africa, and forging a long term and unique partnership with International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for South African operations.
